Life and Prosperity with Jesus
Do you want to have life and prosperity? Life to the full, not just merely surviving and living like a zombie. Yes, you can have it all – life and prosperity with Jesus. Here’s how.
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 15 'Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster. 16 If you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, if you love Yahweh your God and follow his ways, if you keep his commandments, his laws and his customs, you will live and grow numerous, and Yahweh your God will bless you in the country which you are about to enter and make your own. 17 But if your heart turns away, if you refuse to listen, if you let yourself be drawn into worshipping other gods and serving them, 18 I tell you today, you will most certainly perish; you will not live for long in the country which you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 Today, I call heaven and earth to witness against you: I am offering you life or death, blessing or curse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live, 20 in the love of Yahweh your God, obeying his voice, holding fast to him; for in this your life consists, and on this depends the length of time that you stay in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give them.'
Life and Prosperity
I feel like I’m on the brink of something new.
A new “country” I’m about to enter and possess.
Like the Israelites in the context of today’s first reading.
After 40 years wandering about in the desert, they’re now on the brink of entering the land God had promised them – a land flowing with milk and honey.
A land where they’re hoping to have life and prosperity.
But God reminds them here as they are about to enter, it’s not being in that land that they can have life and prosperity.
It’s in living in God and following in His ways.
The Land of Promise
What’s your “Canaan, the promised land?” What is it that you’ve been dreaming of and working so hard to get and achieve in your lifetime?
What’s that you’re believing and praying to God for with all your heart?
Yes, you will achieve it. Because you can. If you can dream it and work for it, you can achieve it.
If God has promised it to you, He will definitely do it for you.
But God here is warning us, like He did the Israelites.
It’s not in achieving your dreams of success that will give you life and prosperity that will last for generations.
You can have all the riches you want, with all the trappings of wealth you can have, but all these are never going to give you life and prosperity.
Only in having God in your life will you truly have life and prosperity.
Life to the full. A life of abundance in meaning, purpose, and fulfillment, as well as overflowing resources, for you and for all your needs and even wants. Not only for yourself but for your family and to others you are inspired to bless as well.
A life of Blessing. A life where you are blessed and blessing many.
Choose life, choose Jesus
So choose life. Choose Jesus.
And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross daily [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]. Luke 9:23 AMP
Yes, it means setting aside selfish interests. It means believing in Jesus and following His example of living, suffering, and even dying.
It means loving God, obeying God’s voice, and holding fast to Him.
So once again Jesus is offering us a deal:
Life and prosperity or death and disaster.
For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake, he is the one who will save it [from the consequences of sin and separation from God]. Luke 9:24 AMP
Life with Jesus or without Jesus.
Life and prosperity with Jesus or death and disaster without Jesus.
Remember:
For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world [wealth, fame, success], and loses or forfeits himself? Luke 9:25 AMP
So what will it be for you: Follow Jesus – Deal or no Deal?

So do you want to have life and prosperity, the life of your dreams,?
Choose Jesus. Love Him, listen to His voice. Obey Him and hold fast to Him.
Then you will have life and prosperity with Jesus. As He promised.

- Listen to Jesus and obey His voice.
Dear Lord,
I choose You. Help me to always live for You. So I can have Life and Prosperity with You. In Jesus’ Name.
