Live for Jesus, Live Fulfilled

Do you want to live fulfilled each day? Don’t hang on to your life. Live for Jesus and for the sake of the Good News. You’ll find fulfillment at end of the day. Here’s how.

Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

Mark 8:34‭-‬37 NLT

Hanging on to Life

When I first started working at home, I kind of lost my purpose in life.

I was just happy that my own and my family’s needs are met each day and still have more than enough for going out and having fun together. And give to others as needed.

So I would wake up at 10am, work, eat, then watch TV or read novels, work again (cause my work is so flexible, I work according to my time) until it’s time to sleep again. Usually, around 3 am.

I didn’t worry about making time to spend with my family cause I work at home with them, spending literally every working time with them.

I live for myself and my family.

Each day was the same. Each with the same routine.

I felt restless, unfulfilled.

Finding a Purpose

Then, by God’s grace, I stumbled upon the Fire movement videos on YouTube which awakened my desire to make something more of myself: saving much and retiring early.

With this I realized, I can’t save much and retire early with just my work so I set out to start an online business. Not just one but several.

Cause I prayed about it, and I felt You leading me to do it.

My purpose was to build a multiple passive income stream that would replace my income and give me both time and financial freedom, having all I need and want and working only whenever I want.

So my life was filled with a new frenzy: wake up, work on my business, then work on my job, eat, then sleep.

Each day was different now but each day left me overwhelmed, overworked, and overstressed.

Finding a Greater Purpose

Through this all, Jesus was the One constant in my life.

I know I need a structure to anchor back my life in Him.

Even though I still wake up at 10am and sleep at 3am, I started seeking Him.

I started small: 5 mins of thankful meditation, then reading scriptures, then exercise, 2 hours of business focus cramming whatever I can with what I feel I need to do, then work until time to sleep because of sheer exhaustion.

But I was inconsistent and irregular and, oftentimes, because I feel overwhelmed with everything I had to do, I escaped and wasted time watching TV and reading novels instead.

Each day was different, yes, but each day still left me overwhelmed, overworked, overstressed.

Taking up my Cross and Following Jesus

This year, I decided on one thing: I will live my life for the sake of Jesus and the Good news.

My online businesses, though they are varied, will have one focus: sharing the Good news to the afflicted, inspiring dreams in Christ.

I don’t care if they’ll earn for me or not. I just want to share Jesus.

Because I wanted to share Jesus, I must seek Jesus first thing above all, daily.

Good thing I found this app, Keep Notes that gets synced to my Google calendar.

I made a daily schedule, starting with waking up at 5am, because I want to start attending daily mass again at 6am.

I walk to the church (which means 20 mins of functional exercise), then prayer reflection and so on.

My Daily Schedule

Here’s how it looks:

  • 5:00 wakeup/5 min Thankfulness meditation
  • 5:30  prep for mass
  • 6:00 mass
  • 6:30 Prayer
  • 7:30 20min. walk home/10 min dancing/7min exercise/yoga
  • 8:30  Learning
  • 9:00  Prep
  • 10-12  Biz
  • 12-1  lunch break/nap
  • 1-3  part-time job/Biz
  • 3-10:00  Full-time job
  • 10:00 publish blog
  • 11:30  Prep for sleep
  • 12:00  Sleep

My Monthly/Weekly Content Calendar

For my business, the Lord directed me to focus on one thing at a time.

So each day, I spend my focus and attention on 1 kind of business for only 2 hours so I can give attention as well to my part-time time and full-time work.

Here’s my content structure for every week for a month which I made in a Google sheet and print out for the whole month:

My monthly/weekly Content Plan: color-coded for my daily biz focus. There’s a Weekly goals section before each week, and a completed list section after each week on the right for my weekly wins.

Then I set alarms on my phone for every time I needed to change my focus and attention, according to my daily structure, and set it on repeat the whole week so I only set it once.

Living fulfilled each day

I’ve only done this for 2 weeks but so far since the Lord has shown me, I’ve never felt so fulfilled since I started my online work.

Each day I look forward to the Lord’s inspiration and each day, I set out to fulfill it the best I could.

I only work on one thing at a time but I’ve also done so much more in a week than I’ve ever done before.

Every week since I started, I’ve accomplished:

  • Publishing a blog post each day,
  • Posting 1 printable/5 variants listing on my Etsy and Shopify store,
  • Listing 5 inspirational journals on Amazon KDP, and
  • Listing 1 inspirational design/3 variants on the 3 Print on demand shops that I decided to focus on for now: RedBubble, TeePublic, Zazzle

This is on top of my 2 online work I needed to do to pay my bills and living expenses.

Each day was different.

Each day left me feeling inspired and fulfilled. And yes, tired too. 🙂

Living for the sake of Jesus and the Good news

I thought before that giving up my life means becoming a martyr for Christ. Or becoming a religious nun.

But I realize, it only means living each day according to the way the Lord has directed you to live.

It’s as He said:

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.

Mark 8:34‭-‬35 NLT

The Amplified bible really put it clearly:

“If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].

Mark 8:34 AMP

Now your turn

So, do you want to live fulfilled each day?

You must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Jesus.

Live for Jesus. If you try to hang on to your life doing what you want, you will lose it.

You will lose your peace, joy, purpose… you name it.

When you start following Jesus, how ever He wants you to live, even if it means dying to what your self wants, you’ll find fulfillment in everything you do.

Your life will be the good news the Lord made it to be. You don’t have to peach, your life will speak for itself.

Live for a greater purpose, live for Jesus and for the sake of the Good news.

Each day you’ll get tired, but each day you’ll live fulfilled.

You’ll save your life, and save your soul.
